Cathal McGloin

Cathal McGloinCathal is co-founder and CEO of ServisBOT Limited, a startup helping brands take advantage of conversational AI to transform digital engagement with their customers. Prior to founding ServisBOT in 2017, he was Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Platforms at Red Hat Inc. the world’s leading open source technology company, following the acquisition of FeedHenry Ltd. by Red Hat in October 2014.

In 2010, Cathal led the spinout of FeedHenry from the TSSG research group in Waterford Institute of Technology and the initial funding and commercialization of the company. He led the commercial launch of the company in 2011 – funded by Kernel Capital’s Bank of Ireland Seed Fund – and the 2013 investment of $9m by Intel Capital and VMware. He subsequently led the sale of the company for $86m to Red Hat Inc.

From 2005 to the end of 2009 Cathal was President of Arantech Inc., the North American subsidiary of Aran Technologies Ltd., an Irish company specializing in the telecoms industry and acquired by Tektronix in 2009 for EURO 70m.

Prior to this, he was Founder and CEO of Performix Technologies, another Irish technology company focused on the area of Performance Management solutions, founded in 1998 in Dublin and sold in 2005.

He has served on the boards of several technology start-ups and was a member of the North American Advisory Board of the Michael Smurfit Business School for seven years. He currently serves on the board of New England Disabled Sports where he is responsible for fund raising and is Chairman of Irish startup AutoEntry, a company specializing in automated bookkeeping.

Cathal holds an MBA from the Smurfit Business School (1992) and a Bachelor of Engineering from UCD (1986). He is married with 3 children and moved to the Boston area in 2000
